Wakubee

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

The short version. Wakubee is a campus companion app for students on iPhone and Android. Your schedule, places, grades, tasks, and journal stay on your device — and in your own cloud backup if you choose to make one. We have no server and no account system, so we never receive or store your data. Wakubee has no ads and no analytics SDKs. The optional one-time "Wakubee Pro" purchase is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play — we never receive or store any payment information. To map your campus and show the weather, the app talks directly to free public services — OpenStreetMap and Open-Meteo — sending only your search text and an approximate campus location.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Wakubee app ("Wakubee", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. By using Wakubee you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who we are

Wakubee is published by Aurumiti LLC, the company behind the EI Brainiac brand. You can reach us about privacy at support@eibrainiac.com.

2. Information you create in the app

Wakubee lets you build and store your campus and academic life — classes, assignments and exams, grades, saved places, dining venues, events, focus sessions, wellbeing check-ins and journal notes, your saved residence, group projects, and settings. This information is:

Wakubee has no login, no user account, and does not ask for your name, email address, or contacts.

3. Location

With your permission, Wakubee uses your device location to estimate how long it takes to walk to a class and when you should leave. This happens on your device; your location is not sent to us.

4. Campus data and weather (third-party services)

Wakubee has no campus database of its own. To find your school and its buildings, dining, and libraries, and to keep that data fresh, the app queries OpenStreetMap (the Nominatim and Overpass services). To show weather-aware "leave by" advice, it queries Open-Meteo. These requests go directly from your device to those services — not through any server we operate.

See these services' policies: the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy and the Open-Meteo terms.

5. Notifications

If you enable class, assignment, or "leave now" reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device by iOS or Android. We do not run a push-notification server and do not see whether or when a notification fires.

6. Camera and microphone

Wakubee uses your camera only if you choose to scan a friend's sharing QR code, or — on iPhone — to point the camera at a printed or on-screen timetable so the app can read the class details from it. In both cases the image is processed on your device and is not stored or transmitted by us. Camera access is optional and is requested only when you use one of those features.

Wakubee uses your microphone only while you are dictating — when you tap the microphone button to speak a class, task, or note instead of typing it. Dictation never runs unless you start it, and we do not record, store, receive, or transmit your audio.

The speech-to-text conversion itself is performed by your operating system, not by us:

Microphone access is optional and is requested only the first time you use dictation. You can decline it and keep using every part of the app by typing.

7. Calendar export

If you ask Wakubee to add a class or your schedule to your calendar, it writes those events to your device's calendar using the operating system. We do not read your calendar and the events stay in your own calendar account.

8. Sharing with friends (peer-to-peer)

Wakubee can create a share code, link, or QR code for a free-time comparison, a study-session invite, or a group project. The code contains only the information you chose to share, and you send it through whatever channel you pick (for example Messages, email, AirDrop, or a printed QR). There is no Wakubee server in between — we never see what you share, and importing a code you receive happens entirely on your device. Only share with people you trust, and only import codes from sources you trust.

9. No advertising, analytics, or accounts

Wakubee shows no ads and contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. There is no account to create, and we do not build a profile of you or track you across apps or websites. We do not sell or share your personal information. The optional one-time "Wakubee Pro" in-app purchase is processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies; we receive only an on-device confirmation that the purchase was made, and no payment details.

10. Children's privacy

Wakubee is intended for students in a general-audience context and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — and because the app has no server or account, there is no personal information for us to collect.

11. Data retention and deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it. Wakubee includes a "Reset all data" action that clears your campus and academic data on the device, and deleting the app removes its on-device data. Any backup you created lives in your own iCloud Drive or chosen file and is controlled by you. Because we keep no copy on our own servers, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because Wakubee stores your information on your own device and we operate no server that holds it, you can exercise these rights directly by viewing, editing, or deleting your data in the app. If you have questions, contact us at the address below. We do not sell or "share" your personal information for advertising.

13. Third-party services

The services Wakubee relies on have their own privacy policies:

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes may be announced in the app or on this page.
